Our Chapter 78 relief bill (S-2273) and ESP Job Justice bills passed the NJ Senate in March, but as of today, it has no companion bill in the Assembly. To help our members get the relief they need from the financial burden of Chapter 78, we need to get this bill moved through the Assembly – and now is the right time.
We need your help. Between now and June 4th, our goal is to send 500 and 1,000 e-mails daily to members of the Assembly. To help us meet this goal, we ask that you and your members TAKE ACTION by clicking here: https://www.njea.org/ask-the-assembly-to-act-today/.
We have updated that action with a new message to the Assembly, so even members who have previously reached out should do so again. The action is very easy and takes less than a minute to complete.
As the state continues to grapple with the economic crisis of COVID-19, S-2273 can save the state, our school districts and our members over $1 billion dollars a year.
Please alert your members that they may be receiving a Hustle text message from fellow members and NJEA staff urging them to take action as well.
